Hi all,  I live near Mae Chok Plaza and am looking for an auto repair place.  Have a 2005 Hilux Vigo diesel 4x4 that when you accelerate quickly, it makes the sound of a old steam locomotive train whistle.  Also starting to make sounds like a belt is slipping or a bearing starting to go when taking off from a full stop.  Any happy success stories with any of the shops in town?  Thanks in advance.

Pro Auto is as good as anywhere I have ever used. Ton speaks good English and will normally do a full check and prices are good. Forum sponsor also I believe.

Hang Dong road. Not far fro Makro opposite side.

+1....

There's a few threads existing giving Pro Auto high marks....

Have only heard superlative results....

After years of searching for a really good shop (and wasting money on poor repair/service work) I found this one...Now it's the only one I trust....Have sent many there - ALL have been happily impressed & turned into regular customers....

Good shops like this are few & far between, let alone ill equipped....

If you have the Line App he will show pics of needs & estimates....

I'm confused about the address for Pro Auto and late this week I'm planning to take my old Honda Civic there for a quote for several repairs.

I seem to recall a recent thread (can't find it) mentioned it's near the 109 market, but a post above says Hang Dong Road.

Can someone please clarify. Thanks.

It's "south" of Macro about a kilometer on 108.....As you're going south you take the next U turn after Makro & it's there on left/northbound side....

It's a red building next to a Blue Shield registration renewal place, which the family also operates....

I believe there's a Blue Michelin sign on the building now - the building is red....

The TVF uploader isn't working now so I can't attach a pic....

Go on FB and search ProAuto & they have a page with a map....

Classic description of a leaking turbo hose.

Which exactly what it was.  Had another shop dealing with the intercooler and they did not tighten the clamp on the hose.  AutoPro caught that, a universal joint going out (obvious when you looked at it and by the noise) , and a mistake by B-Q- - - - k on the air con that had been "repaired" 4 months ago yet was leaking coolant (aircon is going out) as they had not completely seated the replacement valve in the line and it looks like they put on the wrong shocks for the truck which were changed at the same time. Nothing but good things to say about AutoPro so far.

Pro Auto had better be building a larger premises. High quality, fairly priced, English spoken. I bet the guy is making a killing, just by being good ands honest - a model others in Chiang Mai might do well to follow.
