Live telecast of royal cremation available on various channels

Activities during the royal cremation of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Oct 26 will be telecast live from Sanam Luang through various channels for the people throughout the country to watch, the public relations committee for the event announced on Oct 24.

“Bad Genius” earns more than 200 million yuan in China

Thailand on track for record year for exports

If Thailand can export goods worth about US$19.06 billion (Bt632.29 billion) monthly during the current quarter, overall export value this year will rise to a record high of around $232.618 billion, International Trade Promotion Department director-general Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat said on Tuesday.

Kalama jet-ski operators to be called in for public area parking

PHUKET:-- Deputy Chief Executive of Kamala sub-district Administrative Organisation (OrBorTor) Mr Nopporn Karuna has told The Phuket News today (Oct 24) that he will call in jet-ski operators stationed at Kamala Beach following a number of complaints about them parking their jet-skis illegally in public areas.

200 arrested in series of raids

The Provincial Police Region 2 launched a crime sweep operation prior to the Royal Cremation ceremonies and netted more than 200 suspects and a large stash of guns and drugs, Deputy Police Chief Pol General Chalermkiat Sriworakhan told a press conference in Chon Buri on Tuesday.

PHUKET:-- Soldiers from the Royal Thai Army’s 25th Infantry Regiment, based in Phuket, were called in to support police today (Oct 24) at a meeting held following an altercation between a Patong taxi driver and a traffic police officer that was caught on video on the afternoon of Oct 19.

PHUKET:-- The Phuket Immigration Office chief Lt Col Kathatorn Kumthiend has today (Oct 24) denied there are any issues with the 90-day online reporting system after reports from a number of readers this month that they were unable to report their 90 days on the Immigration website’s system.

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - China has informed Sweden that it has freed a bookseller detained for publishing books on the personal lives of President Xi Jinping and other Communist Party leaders, the Swedish foreign office said on Tuesday.
