Retirement Extensions 90 Day Reporting.

Featured Replies

I was told today that 90 day reporting can now be done at any immigration office.

I have never heard of this, can it be true?

Highly unlikely.

Who told you that?

It would be nice but considering they can't organise the obvious in a brewerey I highly doubt it.

Going into a different IO would mean you were in a different area and have to go through the whole rigmarole of new address notifications, etc.

A shame I can do my car tax anywhere but not a 90 day.

I suggest you check your sources.

It would be wrong of me to name him, but he is well known among expats and runs his own visa agency. He said it started about a month ago.

Isn't it just a case of looking at a database and giving you a new blue slip? Seems like that could be done anywhere.

No because, unless it's changed, the 90 day reporting record is held on local databases. That's supposedly why they can only be done at the office you're registered at. Even online reports are manually recorded by the local office.

Is it just a local database? One might think that, in this day and age, any Immigration office would be able to view your details. Aren't they available to staff at borders?

Yes. You're supposed to be reporting the address you're living at to the office that covers that area, so it's only that office that are interested in that report.

No the 90 day report information isn't available at borders. Address information provided by hotels etc is available on the national database, but 90 day reporting is all done locally.
