No doubt you will get the odd 1 or 2 idiots, similar to the larger number of idiot drivers in Thailand, but not all people who fly a drone are idiots.

Some of you "droners" may be well intentioned and have a legitimet reason for their use but the muppets amongst you more than undo any good the damm machines do.

The Washington Post obtained records from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) detailing nearly 700 close calls between drones and airplanes in the U.S. in 2015. And most countries are having to introduce legislation to combat the bloody things.

John is a nudist and has a large number of young ladies in his regular group.  When he says he was riding a horse, that means bare back, bare butt and with at lease 6 unatired ladies along for the ride.  Interested now?

That would of course be a violation of my personal space if only you were true!

Small man syndrome...

I see you are back to your usual insulting "!" worst behaviour.  At least "oldwelshman" is attempting to defend the indefensible.  You just keep droning on and on and on and on!!!!!!

If you have nothing of a positive nature to post I suggest you go fly your kite (sorry toy) somewhere else.

can one of you take an aerial pic of my house? i wanna check if there are any leaks on the roof :P

thank you.

Will one of their beasts be able to drone  as far away as "leakland" AKA Wales?

PS;  When did you start planting leaks on your roof?

I thought they were ground based!

I am just bored by "droners" droning.

They should find something unobtrusive to waste their time and money with instead of invading our spaces and endangering us for their simple pleasures.

A kite with 20m of string is all they should be allowed to fly or control!

Actually you post  quite a lot of crap.

USA reported 700 near missies? Most drones are geomapped and cannot fly within 3.5km of airport. Those that are not could probeb;ly not get high or far enough to cause a near miss. They would have to have taken off their dron within airport grounds mostly, and how did they record them? On video?

I did say I ask permission and in sanctuary of truth they refused so I did not fly there.

I then flew from a beach which is legal but I did not fly below legal height and just took aerial photos only whereas I asked permission to take images behind the site at lower height. As I said they do not own the airspace over 35m and I did not take off on their grounds.

As for airspace, if you had any sense you would realise there are maps of countries no fly zones on the internet you can find and view. These not only show legal places to fly, but also restricted ( fly with permission) and no fly zones ( illegal to fly there and good drones cannot even start within these).

Air space is "not owned".

I suppose you never take any photos in public with your mobile phone or camera? If you accidentally get a person in a photo do you seek their permission to keep it?

The Federal Aviation Administration is making compiles reports of sightings by Commercial pilots here in the US. Last I heard its over 1,500 annually.

Here is a report that touches on a few of the topics you guys are discussing.

So you are ststing the FAA reports of near misses are incorrect.

The Federal Aviation Administration is making false reports?

Oh thats rich.

Nope just asking how they were reported. There were quite a few reported in UK but most were later confirmed not to be. Maybe in USA they don't have so many DJI or geo mapped drones and have loner range drones. I cannot start mine in a restricted area it is not possible, also the range of mine is 1500m but legally it is 500m (line of site) which is more than enough for photos. Height is 123m which is high enough. I have no idea why anyone would want to flay a drone anywhere near an airport but guess its similar to idiots with lasers and plane. You also get idots driving cars illegally also. idiots in all walks of life.

Now I understand and I have edited my above post.

Its still abit different in the US.

A friend of mine who is a GIS specialist has started a business in the US which relies on drones and he says any commercial enterprise is rewuired to sit and pass the actual FAA ground school rewuired of all private pilots.

I think our problems in the US are a result of the recreational users and only a percentage of them through either lack of experience and sadly, hooliganism. We have our fair share of morons over here and many of them are the sons of wealthy parents who think Little Junior needs a Drone.

The fad will fade. I bought mine of a guy who flew it twice lol I was looking at taking the exam in UK also. It is required for commercial issues which I don't do but may do in future, never know. Only reason I did not do it was cost of £2k and no guarantee they were not going to exclude even more places even with a license. One guy was commissioned to take photos at a famous football stadium in UK and new firmware upgrade prevented him even to start it up lol It does appear to be worse in some countries than others. I try to fly mine at night to get good photos and early morning like 4 to 6am when not many people around at all.

Jesus 7000 feet, wonder what they flying. Any dick flying that high should be locked up, plain stupid. Not sure I believe all the reported were actual, maybe some. For them to see it they would have to be within 100m or less and a plane going at 300mph the pilot would need some pretty good eyesight. Not condoning it just saying ;-) Personally I would have no issue with them not only having to be registered, but even better have them with a transponder so anyone flying like that would be traced easily.

So based on your own figures if a pilot has seen a drone then it has been a very NEAR miss.  But then you are going to claim that all these reports are false,

You and your supporters seem to think everyone obeys the "rules" and nobody modifies their devices and all devices are built to meet the Country of operation rules and regulations that they are flying in.  Of course there are some "competent" "droners" but there are also the many idiots out there who do your cause no good at all.

Please come down to earth and join the real world  and admit these idiots excist.

I think if you read my post I said idiots exist in most walks of life, including car drivers, drone users  and horse riders. Stop trolling.

Just because my posts take a contrary stance to yours does not make them trolling posts.  If you consider them to be so all you have to do is ignore them.

I am just trying to correct a few of your misconceptions or more likely misleading and erroneous blinkered posts.

Just for information an A380 on finals at 2500ft is only going at 137knots or 158MPH and that is few miles from the end of the runway.

Drones in Hong Kong need to be registered, operators trained and machines insured.  IF, such laws now under consideration are passed.

http://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/economy/article/2123766/tougher-drone-rules-cards-hong-kong-industry-body-warns

Makes sense to me.

It does not matter what laws and tech restrictions are put in place these idiots will now continue to polute, interfere and endager peple with no regard to the outcome for their own liitle triupmhs and stupidity.  They are in Total denial to the potential and actual harm and danger they are causing.
