The specific charges include money laundering and other crimes NOT in any way associated with Trump. Some of these crimes were supposedly committed 10 years ago. The only connection to Trump is that this dude worked for him, that is until Trump fired him.

The big picture tells me that the feds will "squeeze" manafort, give him a deal if he drops dime on a bigger fish. Otherwise, laundering 75M will get him a nice suite at marion.

But nothing to associate his misdeeds with Trump.

You don't get it. This is only the beginning.

In your full-on, panic-denial mode, you are probably totally unaware that you have already used two damning words in your thankfully terse observation; "associated" and "associate".

Does "He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas" mean anything at all to you red-capped, MAGA, ra-ra boys?

My advice to Trump is pre-emptively pardon everyone because if he does not do that, people will start to get the idea that he will throw them under the bus as necessary and then their only recourse is to roll over. Mueller is a smart cookie though and is working with State AGs so in any event some will get jail time pardon or not.

My sense is this has been decided already. It's a win win for Trump and his agenda. It was decided along time ago.The acting AG fires Mueller for not performing the  investigation of the Russian government's efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election within the scope of USA Code 600.4 Jurisdiction. That US code has Mueller reporting everything to the  AG for "approval" .

Mueller first, second and third indictments produced no evidence within the scope of Russian interference with the presidential election.

If Mueller doesn't find any concrete evidence soon the Deputy AG will dismiss the SC for not performing according to the scope of the investigation.

Unfortunately by the time they manage to nail Trump, he will have already been nailed up in a wooden box and planted 6 foot under. :saai:

Given the fact he is 71, and the time it takes the wheels of justice to turn...

Yes, the big majority of the electorate will certainly see Trump's firing of Mueller as an honest act untainted by self-interest.

You mean like they did when Nixon fired,  Archibald Cox !!!!

We may have an administration that doesn't respect the law but fortunately we have a form of government where that really doesn't matter since the power lies in those who enforce those laws

And Mueller is just getting started and these indictments were just the first salvo designed to send a message to the rest of the underlings:   no one is safe
