Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will join the 31st Asean Summit and Related Summits during Nov 13-14 in Manila, the Philippines, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed.

Asean leaders will also have meetings with external partners China, Japan, Republic of Korea, India, the United Nations (UN), the 20th Asean Plus Three Meeting, and the 12th East Asia Summit.

There will also be summits to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Asean-US, Asean-Canada, and Asean-European Union (EU).

"the US President Donald Trump has decided at the last minute to extend a marathon trip to Asia and will spend “an extra day in the Philippines” to attend the East Asia Summit"

That's another day people in North America will hold their collective breathe to whatever unforeseen behavior Trump displays.

The good general never misses a meeting.

Hope he remembers to take his Article 44 with him. Just in case one of those Asean external partners or some tin-pot Asean member gets a bit uppity with him or tries to push him around. He'll show them who's boss.

I guess now he and Trump are best buddies they will probably shoot a bit of pool together later in the evening.

Seriously, this is probably a good opportunity for him to get away and talk to some sane (with perhaps one exception) and sensible people for a change.

Not having to listen to, talk to and put up with some of his incompetent ministers should be of great relief and contrast for him.

Trump not give a toss about the general.  He never said they were close. Trump wants to see more export. When he fails to produce the general will be a door mat.

He has not much to offer. I don't think his missed.

Starting to fit into 'big boy pants' as the other boys in the yard are now playing with him. He is getting more lunch money now to buy cream pies and Fanta at recess.

Government officials travel around the world on the taxpayers money.

I wouldn't mind if they didn't keep coming back.

Seriously , for some at this meeting Prayut is regarded as a non event and tolerated out of respect to the Thai people.................:coffee1:

That was before his invitation to the white house. Trump changed all that
