I am sure this topic has been before but can anyone send a link for a printout to show the rules for Foreign children on and under 15 years

regarding overstay as immigration dont extend their visa

Thank you in advance

Children under the age of 15 do not pay overstay fines. They do get overstay stamps when leaving the country.

Children under the age of 18 are exempt from banning for an overstay.

Not being fined or banned does not exempt them from needing visas and extensions of stay.

Is this correct, do immigration not process extensions of stay for children?

They certainly do in the case of education.

I think he may of meant if they did not process the extension.

Children can get them for education and as their parents dependents if they are on a extension of stay.

They don't process an extension of a tourist visa

Anyone able to source a document that states this rule regarding children ?

Immigration will certainly do a 30 day extension of a 60 day tourist visa entry or a 30 day visa exempt entry for a child of any age.

The under the age of 15 is not a immigration rule. It under the civil code and applies to all types of fines for children.

The overstay rules are indeed the same for all foreigners regardless of age, with the exception that neither immigration nor the courts can fine a child under 15 years of age for it because of the provisions the Criminal Code (sometimes also called the Penal Code):

Quote

Section 74
Whenever a child over seven years but not yet over fourteen years of age commits what is
provided by the law to be an offence, he shall not be punished, but the Court shall have the
power as follows:...

An immigration office has the right to refuse an extension of stay for any foreigner who is on overstay, including a child if the office chooses to do so.
