The Royal Thai Navy will host the International Fleet Review to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Asean with more than 5,000 commanders and troops from 40 countries participating in the event held at Pattaya Bay of Chon Buri province.

The official opening of the event on Nov 19 will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon.

On Nov 20, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will be on board HTMS Thalang to preside over the review of the international fleet in Pattaya Bay.  It will be a show of might of 25 ships of various countries including the United States, Cambodia and Myanmar, and 15 Thai ships, 40 in total.

Maybe the aircraft carrier will be dusted off and displayed.

...........now, if only we had, say, three submarines............

What will be the best day to visit Pattaya for the Navy festivities? Any beachroad closures planned like the last day of Song Kran?

I want to see the new Chinese supplied submarines, complete with gps trackers so the Chinese know where the Thai subs are!!! :w00t:

The "subs" are in "stealth" mode hidden away in the bay guarding against any terrorist attacks......:clap2:

Et voilà; here we go.

Breaking news from Beach Road with its new permanent feature.

So, finally, after all these years, naval aficionados have an complementing alternative to the aircraft carrying icon of Sattahip, firmly bayed at the pier for decades!

I went once to see the Carrier when they had an open day but because I was a foreigner I was not allowed on board. i guess all the top secret stuff Thais have. or maybe i would notice the poor condition of the Ship. Glad Our Countries often allow open days. last time I went on a New Zeland ship there were more Chinese tourists than kiwis. Damn now they know we have a 20mm
