DDPM: Flooding remains in 4 provinces

BANGKOK, 20 November 2017 (NNT) - The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported that flooding remains in four provinces, Phichit, Ayutthaya, Khon Kaen and Maha Sarakham.

DDPM Director General Chayaphol Thitisak said all needed assistances had been provided for the flooded effected people.

A survey on real damages and casualties from the natural disaster is being carried out in order to come up with the government’s plan to properly help the flooded victims, he added.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning for people in the east, lower central plains, upper south and also Bangkok and its vicinity to brace for heavy rain caused by the tropical storm Kirogi in the South China Sea.

People in the risk area are advised to follow up weather forecasts and strictly comply with given instructions. Requests for assistance can be made by calling Hotline 1784 around the clock.
