Ossy's Headlines: Thailand's 2 most under-performing elements, law and order (the RTP, under the Interior Minister) and education do not see new faces at the top positions. Prayut is evidently satisfied that, whilst his invisible police force oversee the world's deadliest roads, his education ministry is responsible for Thailand's shameful position - 48th out of 70 - on the table of education performance indicators, measured amongst the world's so-called developed nations.

Prayut, it would seem, is happy with these awful figures, so I guess there will be little improvement in either department during the next 12 pre-election months . . . INTERESTING. Is that a gun he's holding to his head? His best idea, yet.

Faces....?

I just don't understand what you mean....:laugh::clap2:

If the cabinet was so bad that he had to remove 9 of them, why take so long about it?

Can any of us imagine this happening in our country of birth?

The country would lose all confidence in the government & a general election would be called.

Did Prayut replace himself with a new face also?

Don't be silly . . . in his eyes, he's not just PM, he's god.

Here's the new Tourism & Sports Minister, Weerasak Kowsurat. Prepare your slings & arrows.

I thought I recognised her. She's the stern-faced bint that was engaged to head-up the road-safety initiative before last Songkran . . . the one that banned pickup rear-riding for one day, before some farmer asked how he was going to get his workers to work. She wasn't seen again, after that big climb-down so she'll be in real need of a cuddle, now.

With your user name, I assume you mean the former, a Sydney term of affection?

Urban Dictionary: Bint

  1. In certain areas of Western Sydney, 'bint' functions as a term of endearment (if a somewhat cheeky one) devoid of standard derogatory connotations.

All men, and it's the women who work the hardest in Thailand.

I can imagine something very much like it. In some countries, having been a Minister brings a higher pension than a mere MP. If enough Cabinet shuffles occur, everyone gets the higher pension. Of course it would never happen here. Not much it wouldn't.

there is something missing in the photo .. O yes got it the gun

Wonder if they will be as pompous and ineffective as many in the junta government.  This sadly just shows that the junta will probably say the country just is not ready for general elections at this time.  Something we all foresaw .

yes, seems much more about holding a title than achieving results per job description

He would have done better going down to the local cow field and selecting from there, at least it would have been organic bullS>>> we would be getting

Musical chairs

an education minister with an educational degree...

Another bad example of 'dictatorship' appointing people instead of them being chosen by democratic elections..........

TIT has never been this distasteful before............

Yes, Ratcatcher, just me being affectionate/cheeky again. I understand you, thinking my user-name referred to my place of origin - that's POO, if you're in Western Australia! - but Sydney is about as far off as you could possibly get. If you like Googling and maps, here's a clue to my POO. Ossy is short for Oswald; Oswald is the first 6 letters of my 13 letter home-town in the UK. Further clues available at 58 baht.

I might agree with you if I knew what 'TIT' was. Could be 'turmoil in Thailand' or 'twerps in trousers', but I doubt it. And, come to think of it, I quite like the taste of it, to be honest.

Mayday - Mayday . . . Tardis in trouble . . . someone said 'results' . . . this word not register with Thai Tardis; in fact it's sending the entire crew into panic mode . . . Mayday - Mayday

tremendous diversity reflected in these photos of the new cabinet.

they all have different names.

Seriously, she was responsible and hasn't been seen since? That's news to me.

"Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan on Friday urged the public not to criticise Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha for banning passengers from riding in the open cargo bed of pickup trucks.

He admitted that he and a committee had proposed such a ban for the premier's approval, out of a concern for public safety."

Out of 36 cabinet members just one is a woman. I'd ask my beloved what she thinks about this gross inequality, but she's busy cleaning the bathroom.

Prawit (maybe):  My boss went off, half-cocked, as usual, after I'd outlined the risks of rear-riding, thinking he'd grab all the glory . . . he meant well, though and, to be honest, it was my gob-<deleted> that got him going in the first place. We're a right pair, aren't we.
