webfact
Hunt on for two Hmong men after family including 5 year old slaughtered in Prachuap Picture; Daily News Police are hunting for two Hmong rubber workers after an entire family was found slashed to death at a plantation just a few kilometers from the Burmese border in Prachuap Khiri Khan province. Three adults were almost decapitated and a five year old girl was cut to pieces. Plantation owner Pornnipha Sae-Liang, 29, went to investigate after she said it was unusually quiet at the shack where the family had been staying over the last month while they did rubber work. She found a scene of unimaginable horror, reported Daily News. Both Namphon Khamkhong, 30, from Narathiwat and his wife Mukda Ngorkwisai, 27 had been nearly decapitated. Their five year old daughter was slashed all over her face and body and attempts had been made to cut her legs and arms off. Forty meters away they found an old man who was Mukda's father. He was similarly slashed in the neck. A knife and a scythe were found left at the scene. Both Hmong workers who lived and worked in the same place in Chang Raek sub-district have disappeared. Bang Saphan Noi police are hunting them. Source: Daily News -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2017-11-

DLang
Terrible. Did one of the family say something that made the workers lose face? Constructive Criticism? Advice? Reprimand for unprofessional behavior, perhaps? Doesn't take much round these parts....
gandalf12
A Thai recently told me the way things are going you are going to have to look at the ground when you walk around so you don't get someone wanting to kill you. Such a sad indictment of what is a beautiful country

I assume you understand Thailand far better than the Thai's. Congratulation you win the arrogance if the year award. You need to understand what was meant instead of taking the words at face value but maybe that is a difficult for yoy

He did but unfortunately left out a set of quotation marks and you only see a "circle made with a glass". One must assume English is not your first language or else your education finished around year 4. My Thai family make many similar comments about their disappointment in the direction their country is taking. Similarly people of my vintage are appalled at the way Australia is headed. Gandalf did suggest that soon people will have to walk around with their eyes looking at the ground, to avoid getting murdered in Thailand . Does he actually think that or did he mean something else ? If he does think that , then I disagree with him . If he doesnt think that , then he should write what he does actually think . If he meant that Thailand is getting quite dangerous, he should write that and stop exaggerating his thoughts

That would take all the fun out of being a troll. Just leave the old troll in London to his proclamations about Thailand so he feels relevant. It is, likely, all he has. If he meant that Thailand is getting quite dangerous, he should write that and stop exaggerating his thoughts It's called hyperbole. It's pretty common in everyday English. Like eating something bad and saying "that was the most disgusting thing i've ever tasted!" Or you have a bad day and say "this is the worst day of my life!" You don't mean it literally but you speak like that to convey how strongly you feel about the taste of the food. So saying that soon you will have to look at the ground for fear of upsetting someone is a hyperbolic way of commenting on how bad the seemingly unprovoked violence is. If someone said to you that it is raining so heavily that they will start sailing a boat to work soon, would you get angry with them if you did not believe that there was enough water for them to be able to use a boat to sail to work? It's similar to using metaphor. I think any native speaker would know that if someone made and exaggerated comment that they were not speaking literally. Is English a second language for you? Coupled to the general disregard for the sanctity of life, it figures the combination of both doesn't bode well for the future. I think.

Netease
In Australia you have to be careful who you look in the eye when stopped at the lights or when you walk down the street it is getting dangerous by the year. King hits from behind without any reason were getting so popular they are now called coward hits. In the CBD of Sydney the pubs have to stop serving alcohol at about 1.30am thanks to a few drunks. I cannot possibly understand why anyone could kill these people let alone the way they did it

It is quite easy to avoid any conformation in Thailand , Thais are generally not confrontational, and if you do find yourself in a situation that may become heated, just walk away . Its almost quite certain that this story wasnt the result of someone looking at someone else in the wrong way

You might want to believe everything that is posted here, that poster is miles off reality. "say something you will reap the wrath of anger" Depends how stupid you are with your choice of words...ironically. "road rage is on the increase" Says who? "almost every Thai carries a weapon of some kind" B ollocks. "Walking around looking at the ground & staying quiet means you might live a bit longer in the land of smiles" Just acting like a normal person and not being an idiot would be more help. HHTel
Why do the authorities feel the need to publish pictures of the dead, albeit in body bags. There was a pic recently of a dozen bodies from a burning van with the volunteers and officials posing behind for the photo shoot! Beggars belief.
