"Policeman/Army men" planted drugs then demanded sex from mother

A murky tale from the north east of Thailand was reported by Sanook after a 16 year old girl went on Facebook to complain about what happened to her 25 year old brother.

The admin of an Ubon Ratchathani fan page called in the media to investigate.

Sanook were told that on November 25th contact was made through Facebook with a man's mother allegedly coming from a policeman in the Mukdahan area.

The cop said that her son had been found to have ten Ya Ba tablets on him at a checkpoint. He said that her son faced 5/6 years in jail and a heavy fine.

But he would forget all about it if she agreed to have sex with him. This was later changed to agreeing to let him go if she sent pictures of her genitals to the officer.

Contact with the local police station revealed that no one was in custody for drugs on that day.

The family went along with the ruse agreeing to meet at a resort but the alleged cop did not show up saying there were a lot of cops in the area.

Next day the son staggered back home in a daze.

He said he had been out riding on a motorcycle when he was stopped at a checkpoint where there was a man dressed in a police uniform and two men dressed as soldiers. They said he had ten Ya Ba which he denied.

They took his phone and transported him to a dark room when he was given a drink that knocked him out.

He recovered next day and got home not knowing what had happened to him. Just 500 baht was missing from his wallet.

The family said they didn't want to make a big deal of what happened as their son was fine but it should be a warning to others at what could happen.

Thaivisa notes that actions of the daughter in reporting the case on Facebook seemed to have been against the wishes of the family.

I am shocked that the assault of this woman is trivialised because it was first reported on facebook

Extortion  / sexual assault which are you more comfortable with?

Attempted extortion seems the most appropriate. Lets be factually correct and not go overboard on the hyperbole.

Sigh...

My comment was made because I doubt the police would use facebook to contact a family.

It was implying that the bib were not the ones contacting the family.

That would be why I quoted the part of the story reporting this.

I made no mention of the victims ordeal later being reported on facebook.

That would be because I believe their  version of events.

and many may be shocked that the kidnapping and drugging of a young man doesn't equally shock you.

I am more disgusted than shocked about that, I am outraged for the mother as well.

My empathy knows no bounds thank you

Hang on.....somethings not working here?

Sounds like a Brexit negotiator for the UK, giving in too easy.

regards worgeordie

has anyone seen or been shown  any proof it happened yet, only taking 500 baht seems a bit odd as well, while if true it is pretty bad it would be great to see proof it actually happened as stated, should be easy enough really. So far it is only based on what has been said by the girl, facebook posts etc would be very helpful, the other thing is we have seen people impersonate police/army  before as well, still many unanswered questions here that need proper investigating

Name and shame..

Everybody is shocked, horrified and disgusted, but no proof of any

of it actually happening apart from a one guy who's dazed and confused

missing some money, dose anyone have proofs that indeed an asult

took place on anybody?....

A little wai is enough

this is not a small matter and efforts should be made to get to the bottom of it.there is a serious possibility of the perpetrators will become emboldened if no action is taken.

25 with a 16 year s daughter, that's the most shocking part! Pregnant at 8 and given birth by 9 years old.. BLOODY HELL!!!

All's well that ends well and at least no foreigners were accused. (yet).

No one was assaulted.

Quite possibly she resorted to Facebook only after her family agreed for her to have sex with the “officer” in return for dropping charges.

Although the media here don't investigate as much as the media in the west they are definitely much more able to investigate a situation such as this than the police are.

I get the impression that this is not the first time this grubby tactic had been deployed.

The BiB could track down almost any computer crime. How would the cop/army men know it was her genitalia ?

Seem the police and the military just can’t stop planting whether drugs or arms.

No big deal, heard similar stories from Australia, UK, USA, bent coppers plant gear to get money, sex.

I am wondering if there's a comprehension problem with this story.

A 25 year old man was stopped by three men, one dressed as  a "policeman" and the other two as "soldiers".

The "policeman " supposedly accused the man of having 10 yaba tablets. They stole his phone and he was transported to a room and given a drug which rendered him unconscious. The next day he returned home and contact was made whereby the policeman said they would drop charges if the mother would have sex with him, the cop later agreed to forget about it if the mother sent him pictures of her private parts..The 16 year old sister of the 25 year old man merely reported on FB what had happened to her brother.

No sex with a 16 year old, no incest, no baby at 9 years old. Just a somewhat convoluted bit of reporting.

If I am wrong in this assessment, I will apologize.

While this is one of the reasons Thai people are so lovely to be around, it's also the reason why nothing ever changes and people constantly get away with doing awful things to others.

confused reporting, I have no idea what happened to whom or where but somebody wanted a picture of a woman's genitals and her son got home in a confused state, maybe he did the reporting. ...'the alleged cop did not show up saying there were a lot of cops in the area', clear as mud.
