Police said there were no signs of forced entry or a disturbance in the room and are working on the assumption Mr Brien died of natural causes.

Stop. No signs of forced entry or a disturbance, what that could be? A ladyboy visible?

Working on the assumption that will be the easiest. The guy was too young to die a natural death. I'm afraid that we'll never know who's helped him a bit. RIP, Herr Brien.

"The guy was too young to die a natural death".

You must be joking!

"No signs of forced entry or a disturbance, what that could be? A ladyboy visible?"

Huh?"

"I'm afraid that we'll never know who's helped him a bit".

You do know what an autopsy is, yes?

Yep every farang here dies of natural causes, but they never send the body home for a proper team of investigators to examine, I wonder why.

"...but they never send the body home for a proper team of investigators to examine..."

They do, though.

Another mysterious death written off as "natural causes" by Thai authorities ... what a sorry way to go. RIP.

But it hasn't been written off as natural causes, a postmortem is being conducted!

And you think that it doesn't?

Yes. Post mortem’s in Thailand come to whatever conclusions suit the Police narrative ... that’s why you get “suicide” conclusions from foreigners found hanging with arms and feet bound and a knife between their shoulder blades.

No, that's just what people who rely on information from other uninformed people

(who actually have no information) on public forums "think".

You were doing ok until you threw in the ridiculous knife part.  The one you are referring to did not have his "arms bound", his hands were very loosely tied, he certainly did not have a knife between his shoulder blades..

I wasn’t quoting an actual case, just offering up a humorous example. I’m sure I could find even more bizarre real case examples if I wished. The point simply Is that the institutions that people rely on are corrupt, and if the authorities did not want to show Thailand in a poor light then a face saving autopsy conclusion would be served up. The rule of law is sometimes applied in Thailand, but not always, especially if powerful figures are involved or the country’s “face” is at stake.

Says who, in the case of postmortems?  Any examples or just more urban myth speculation?
