That's more like it! Honest Pattaya baht bus driver returns cash and valuables to Indian tourists

After police reported that a Pattaya taxi driver stole the luggage of a Korean couple came a heartwarming story of honesty from the resort many people like to knock.

The hero on this occasion helping to restore good faith in the city was baht bus driver Phanom Uttha who has "song thaew" number 265 usually seen plying the route between south and north Pattaya.

President of the baht bus association Tawat Pheuakbunnark said Phanom had been hired by some Indian tourists to take them to the View Talay 6 Condo in Jomtien.

After taking the tourists to their destination he spotted that they had left a bag - and it contained a lot of valuables including $600 US, 3000 rupees, passports, a camera and other essential documents.

He immediately handed it into the association who did the rest in reuniting the property with the overjoyed tourists.

They checked the bag and everything was in place. They handed over a reward that was not specified in the INN news report that called the baht bus driver "a good man in society".

Earlier in the week police charged a taxi driver with theft after he drove off with a Korean husband and wife's luggage.

Those tourists were also reunited with their valuables and that driver is now in custody.

They probably persuaded him to buy a suit off them, with the reward money ! :cheesy:

Well done that driver !  Can we for once try not to post the usual " It is a TAT publicity stunt"  bullsheit?

probably is though. funny how it always seems to be indians that get their stuff back don't you think? 555

I find it ironic that the media is notified over such a petty matter

If the media want a real story, sit at the corner of ANY street and watch kids riding motorbikes, people riding with no helmets, wrong way and a multitude of road violations

Then ask, "What are the Police doing about this"

Wait a sec... tourist season is nearly here... I get it now ... :)

No, because yesterday's news story was about the arrest of a Pattaya taxi driver who drove off after a Korean tourist placed all his luggage inside a taxi.  https://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/1015840-pattaya-taxi-driver-arrested-for-driving-off-with-koreans-luggage/

A lot of people said yesterday. After darkness comes sunshine. 1-1 against the taxi-bathbus team competition.

When physical law meets tourism PR:

Action:

Pattaya taxi driver arrested for driving off with Korean's luggage

Reaction: Honest Pattaya baht bus driver returns cash and valuables to Indian tourists.

What plonker comes up with this s++t?

Every time we see a story about a dishonest taxi driver within 48 hours we get a story about an honest taxi driver handing over someones belongings, and it is always accompanied by the bit that it contained a large amount of cash.

T.A.T. must employ story writers just to make up good taxi driver deeds.

You're probably correct, although the tourists won't give a toss about the good taxi/bus/songtaew drivers deeds, when they have already booked to go elsewhere due to the large number of thieving arsewipes they read about almost on a daily basis.

If the BiB weren't so eager to advertise when they actually catch somebody, there wouldn't be any need for these fiction writers.  I don't suppose they're familiar with the saying, "No news is good news".
