Portable Sawmill

Featured Replies

A portable Saw Mill. Anyone seen or know where to purchase such a item in Thauland link to what I am talking about >  https://www.frontiersawmills.com/us/os27-sawmill

Would you need a license or permit for one ? Was thinking of buying the brother-in-law one to help him earn a good living. Figure it wood be cheaper in the long run rather than him supplementing his income with mine ;).

PS if importing anyone know what taxes/fees/duties involved ?

I don't know personally, but there was a prior thread on this topic. Maybe something to be gleaned there:

I knew a guy who setup a mill, he could only get a permit to run for a few months. Not sure if he had to reapply later, or just moved on to something else.

But what I take from that is that it is highly regulated, and different areas have different rules.

I know that where we are we can only cut down dead trees. But our relatives in another province are allowed to cut down trees to build a house.

You should find out all the restrictions before you invest.
