Need a 30 day extension at any land border and have car.  Any suggestions as to which one is less hassle free??

if ur in Songkla, u'r not going to drive to Chiang Khong to do a 30 day extension.

Not necessarily. If somebody is driving around touring the country, they may want to plan where to be when it comes time for a visa run. 

 

I am also interested in people's comments on the matter, just to have some ideas top of mind for planning purposes.

 

With that in mind, I went to Mae Sai this week and there was zero hassle. Did NOT need to show 10k THB cash. Professional IO's just doing their jobs, treated me as somebody doing a routine procedure (which it was), polite and no questions asked. I did provide complete address in Thailand on the entry card.

The OP asked for ANY in the country. Since he has a car he can just to go ANY.

Let him deal with distance issues.

I also would like to know which is the easiest least hassle border entry in the whole country. 

Extensions are not given at borders. They are given at immigration offices.

Okay, let me more specific here.  I currently reside in Sattahip and of course looking for the closest crossing to get a regular 30 day entry visa with the least amount of waiting in line like the six hours it took the last time from Cambodia in the border town of Aranyaprathet.

I do have a Non-O-Tourist Visa TR with multiple entries (60+60+60 days) but due to a personal conflict of dates I need the extra 30 day visa at the end of this year.

Will my Non-O Visa be a problem at the border, since I don't want to activate my next 60 days stay but only obtain a free 30 day visa?

IF they see ur visa ,they will use it.

You do know u can get a 30 day extension of each VISA you have at any immigration.

 

NO idea what a "non o tourist visa" is

There are  non o visa's

and  tourist visa's ( single or multiple entry-which it seems you have)

there are NO 30 DAY visas for westerners,  there 30 day visa exempt entries.
