People have reported seeing ice sheets on the nearby rivers, and heavy frost in the area. simoh1490 Posted December 21, 2017 Share Posted December 21, 2017 There is frost there most years at around 8,000 feet, the frost line moves but the general area of it is easily identified, trees below it, none above it. From other news " ...used a digital thermometer to measure the temperature at ground level in front of the observatory". Instead, it should be measured at 2m height above the ground and protected from air flow. In fact, the same Observatory has an online weather station showing that the minimum air temperature in the last nights was several degrees above zero.
