VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - A topless activist from the feminist group Femen tried to snatch the statue of the baby Jesus from the Nativity scene in St. Peter's Square on Monday but was stopped by police as she grabbed it.

A Reuters photographer said the woman jumped over guard rails and rushed onto the larger-than-life Nativity scene shouting "God is woman". She had the same slogan painted on her bare back.

A Vatican gendarme stopped her from taking the statue and she was detained. The incident happened about two hours before Pope Francis delivered his Christmas message to some 50,000 people in the square.

The group's website identified her as Alisa Vinogradova and called her a "sextremist". It says the goal of the group, which was founded in Ukraine, is "complete victory over patriarchy".

A Femen activist staged a similar action on Christmas Day 2014 but managed to take the statue out of the crib before she was arrested.

Femen, sextreamist, stealing Jesus, all that and still doesn't beat Thailand's very own pride and joy, the lady boys brigade, who specialize in snatching jewelries and bags....

Or how to bring back a subject that has absolutely nothing to do to the author obsessiveness for Thai bashing:clap2:

She seems to have forgotten that women caused all this mess in the first place by tempting Adam with an apple.

The apple is a tale, in reality it is the fruit of knowlegde and insight. That is what all religions fear most.

Scholars say the actual 'fruit' used in the metaphor in the bible was more than likely  the  'Pomegranate'. But as most English and Europeans in the 16th century didn't know what a pomegranate was from Adam (pun intended) then the poor old apple picked up the curse. Another one of the many fudges in the King James translation.

The stable in the photo above seems a bit busy and who is the naked guy lay in the hay only 2 meters from where JC is holding Royal Court at the age of 3 hours? Some drunk guy celebrating the census who looks like he is being pulled out "Those 3 wise men there said it's not a good idea for you to be in here son". Obviously around the Vatican pictures of full grown naked men around young kids became the norm -  part of the priesthood code of ethics in fact.

Another bible re-write is imminent.  The Newer Testament, version 3.0, featuring Caitlyn Kardashian Jenner.

Well it might be a good read if it's anything like their Old Testament would be. "In the beginning God said, get me an electrician we need some light and I can't charge my phone. In the first 5 days God got loads of other people to create the Earth because that's what poor normal people are for and definitely not for reality TV stars. On the 6th day God said let there be an all day spa session including nails, hair and make-up and on the 7th day God rested - all day, in bed with breakfast in bed for verily this is how a reality TV star should live."

I fail to understand why we make people rich and famous for achieving thing other than letting people watch their fake lives.

I am actually interested to know exactly what the woman in the OP was going to do once she got hold of the statue of Jesus?
