Considering relocation to Nan, seek advice

Hi
Hope some of you guys can give me some advice.
I recently went on a bike trip through Nan and absolutely loved the roads up there. I live in Chachoengsao and as far as roads go, it's the opposite of Nan. I also liked the quiet and relaxed atmosphere and generally had a very good feeling. I admit, I only stayed few days so I most likely saw only the nice bits. That's why I'm here asking for your thoughts.
How's life up there?

As a motorcycle enthusiast I know I would love to live close to those amazing roads, but what about the rest?

I had a quick look at the available properties in and around Nan, but to my surprise only found very few for sale. Do you have any links you can share about properties in Nan province?
Is the immigration office relaxed like the rest of the province? Any problems there?
Is paddy fields burning a problem like in Chiang Mai?
Anything important I should know?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks, I haven't thought about the service. Fortunately, I'm pretty handy with tools and can do most of the ordinary maintenance myself. I guess the closest Triumph dealer is in Chiang Mai....need to check that.

As for lifestype,  slow and quiet is what I like. I have plenty of hobbies and interests to last 2 lifetimes. ?

There is a big bike enthusiasts' club attached to one of the coffee shops in the centre of Nan. They also rent out Honda Waves. Can't remember the name of it.

Consider Phrae as a compromise. More commercial activity = more services available, still great roads, nearer to centres of population.

My school teacher wife is from Nan. I  have been there a few times. Nice place. VERY VERY QUIET and cool weather at times. Personally I would not locate there. It's not like a nice  quiet version of Westernized Pattaya. It woefully short of anything falang.  You wont be going out to eat in many European eateries or watching undubbed movies there. But if your happy with the quiet THAI town life then yes, live there.

Visit the large Shell gas station in the middle of town, the owner is a big bike enthusiast.
