President Trump made a choice to follow the advice of his Republican Seantor's counsel.  Forced?  Not really.  Actually, it would seem he acted with restraint as a team player by going against his instincts and letting those in whom the responsibility lies serve as they were elected to do so.

Regarding previous attempts to resolve the impasse.  Yes, this is the prerogative of the President. An adjusted and more acceptable bill was created which the President will sign. Good job by all.

Well, since it did stop Republicans from holding sick children as hostages for another 6 years, that's a good thing. But if your idea of a good job is a bill set to expire in 3 weeks, you have set a very low bar for success.

he sat on the sidelines at the recommendation of senators of the republican party,  it is the responsibility of the senate and congress that craft the budget, and resolve impasses like this most recent one. watching from the sidelines clearly worked, with a short interruption and a deal acceptable to both sides having been crafted.  it will be signed in quick fashion by the president.

And will last for a whole few weeks, 555!

Trump made a choice to keep quiet for a little while after the adults told him he couldn't go to his party in Mar a Lago until the shutdown ended.  No doubt the childish tweets will resume soon.

Republicans will cave on DACA and children's health or pay in November.

Actually, they already did cave on CHIPS. The bill extends it by 6 years. Which is why I'm a bit puzzled by so many analysts categorizing this as a Democratic defeat. In 3 weeks they can do it again and they rescued the hostages from the evil Republicans.

Like I said before, that won't happen unless trump stops listening to Stephen Miller and John Kelly.  He's indicated that he is willing to give in before to DACA resolutions and then the two "alt right" advisors get involved and he changes his mind.  Currently, unless he gets funding for his "wall", and elimination of the other two immigration bills, DACA will go nowhere.  McConnell can make a deal and pass an acceptable bill and it will die in the House and not even be introduced.  Kelly might be on the way out and Miller put in the back ground after his outburst with Jake Tapper but unless they both go there's no hope!

If I was a DACA person, sadly, I would working hard now on a Plan B, like foreign language courses. I don't know how they are able to sleep at night now. My (for what it's worth) prediction for their fate is one of two outcomes:

-- A short term stopgap that ends either after the midterm election or even the 2020 election. The republicans would prefer to not have to deal with ads of all the human tragedies of these Americans without papers deportations.

-- No DACA deal at all and the mass deportations of Americans without papers happens. trump's people (he does little himself obviously) are already setting up their excuses. They will blame the failure on the democrats. How stupid are the people? Well, trump was elected, so do the math.
