The arrest of six alleged Malaysian scam artists by Thai authorities in Bangkok early this month, and other recent cases, have put the spotlight on the neighbouring country becoming the new favoured hunting ground for Malaysian scam syndicates.

 

As more Malaysians involved with the call centre scam or "Macau scam" syndicates languish behind bars in Thai prison, authorities in the two countries have called for more cooperation and joint action in nipping the growing problem in the bud.

all well and good they are shutting these people down. Now, how about the same for the western boiler rooms who you've happily taken money off to operate for decades despite pressure from western law enforcement. too much to lose eh

Yes, many foreign criminals come here. Why? Just because they're bad? No. Thailand provides the atmosphere. 

 

When you can pay big cash for things and/or transfer large sums of money around with no questions asked, it's just one of the many reasons foreign criminals are drawn to here.

Thai government just must ask themselves one question: Why is Thailand the hub of call center scams / boiler rooms ???

While the money keeps rolling, those guy/s will continue their business as usual

A scammers best mark is the greedy, not a bad place to business, maybe some of the other neighbours will get wise.

When many scammers seem to be in Thailand on overstays, fake passports and/or false immigration visas, it's also a wonder that it takes the authorities so long to detect them.
