Good morning everyone!

Just came to work and my current employer told me "I hope you won't have any complications with new job, because we are going to write a letter for ministry of Education about the reasons, why are you going to leave our company"....I'm lost and so stressed out right now. What games are they playing with me? I never been late at work, always did my job in time (I'm a teacher of english). Are they trying to keep me at their place or what? Help me please....I really don't know what to do

I THINK MY FIRST QUESTION WOULD BE what new job?

Sorry, I didn't specify it. I'm going to leave my current job because I found another employer with better salary and conditions. I notified my current employer that I wish to resign. I'm still on probation period . Started to work in December

Do you have a contract  ?

In general their threats are BS amd you can safely tell them to go blank themselves... But read your contract regarding early exit

What do you mean "their threats are BS"?

I do have a contract. It says that during probation period both parties may terminate the contract without penalties.

BS means bullshit or in other words not having any basis of fact.

So, does it mean that they can't report to the ministry of Education that I'm "terrible person" and decided to leave because I don't want to work with them? They told me such things just to keep me with them?

No they can't. In fact the defamation laws are very strict and defamation is a criminal as well as civil here.

Providing you are complying with the exit clause in your contract, and have given no reason for any actions against you during your employment then don't worry about it.

And Bob's your uncle.  Enjoy your new job.

Then don't pay attention to their idle threats............leave the position on a happy note and enjoy your new job.  Ensure the new employer is doing the paperwork for work permit, visa etc etc etc,   Peace

I had a very similar situation.

I had a job in a lovely school so I accepted a low salary for the probationary period... They promised in the interview the salary would match other schools in the area once completed 3 month probation. (They also said this to 4 other new staff)... Coming up to this time they denied this so I gave a weeks notice and left at the end. ( ALL NEW STAFF LEFT)

The head teacher came to me and said 'if you leave this school now, the owner will write a letter and have you blacklisted from Thailand' I laughed in her face.. carried on with my last week and moved school. Its silly threats ignore it, nothing happened with me, as long as you are in probation period you are safe :)
