One Year Extension Of A 3 Months Non-immigration Visa Education

Featured Replies

Hello

These 2 Cambodian girls (7 and 9 years) study in Thailand since 4 years in a good private school in Bangkok.

From the beginning they stayed on tourist visas.

Each of them has her own passport.

This time they got a 3 months non-immigration visa.

Type of visa: Non-Immigrant

Category: ED which mean EDUCATION

As they crossed the border they obtained a 3 months stamp.

The forms used to get the visa are attached intentionally in the passport by the Thai Embassy.

It should be possible to get a one year extension. Right?

Any one familiar with this case?

Whee to go?

Which documents?

Thank you

Geo

A letter from the school to Immigration requesting an extension of the ED visa, together with a copy of the schools registration documents should do the trick.

Immigration web site mentions the information below. Point 5 looks difficult to obtain when living in Bangkok. We'll see.

In case of student

1. Immigration Form 7 (Tor Mor 7)

2. Copy of passport

3. A 4 cm. X 6 cm. Photograph

4. 1,900 baht application fee

5. A certified document from the governor of the province in which the Private Educational Institute is located or from the Government Department or equivalent that takes care of the institute, document must contain details about the applicant:

o Name, Family name

o Age

o Nationality

o Passport number

o Total academic years - curriculum - funding

o Education transcript of the applicant - length of further stay

6. School license (Sor Shor 2)

7. The Permit / certificate to be school manager (Sor Shor 5) or Principal (Sor Shor 8)

8. The officials reserve the rights to examine or ask for additional documents if necessary
