Been there many times and well aware of the small Fogo wine region and Cha da Fogo.  However, how does this relate to my question regarding where the Monteverde wine brand off the coast of Africa comes from, as was stated by another?  Do you have a link proving that it is Cap Vert or is it from Chile as the other guy wrote?

Monte Verde (Green Mountain) wine comes from Chile, as you say. No link, sorry. You have more knowledge of the Fogo wines than I.

    It’s the new watch tax.

  • New taxes on wine but nearly 100% seems excessive. If Mont Clair is going to cost 749 baht for 2 litres no one will buy it. Does that mean their 8 litre boxes are 3000 baht now?

  • You may find the answer here -

The new 3 liter boxes are 999 Baht at big C

And the 5 liter boxes of Mont Clair were 1,290 in Lotus yesterday, up from about 970.

It would appear that the tax increase is being applied to the retail price, not the tax rate!

So, how much is a 2-dl glass of i.e.  red Montclair selling now in a regular restaurant in Central Pattaya. Not talking upscale. Just average

decent restaurant? Any feedback?  THX.  MS>

I bought a 10 liter mont clair box of white yesterday at tesco for 1499 baht in bangkok. First time I tried it and was surprised it was passable but I prefer it with a good squirt of orange juice and Ice
