New non immigrant B visa where?

Recommended Posts

Chinese lady round the corner on a non immigrant B visa just discovered before going to get it extended for a year she has a problem. She has not had the 400k in the bank for the 90 days, three weeks short. She thinks she can wangle it at immigration, I doubt it and think she will have to leave when the extension runs out and start again with another visa. She has been here on this visa 5 years, where is the best place to get a new one, could she do it in Bangkok where she lives?

Looked at the passport that's what she has and she says she needs 400k in the bank to extend it. She has an extension from last year to this Feb

What was her original basis for the Visa and for subsequent extensions ? Extension based on ??? with 400K in the bank

That's what I did not quite get. she has to go with photos like a marriage extension and it seems she is looking after somebodies child, a Thai one which is why she is here, officially anyway.

As others have said, it is really difficult to give any advice without knowing the basis of previous extensions of permission to stay. Usually, those who originally entered with a Non B visa will have extensions based on working. This requires no money in the bank. It generally requires a work permit and a minimum salary level. Is she, perhaps, a former Thai citizen or a displaced Thai citizen?

Sounds like she came here as a domestic and has somehow been getting marriage extensions to stay even though not married due to the fact that her 'employer' was not able to secure a work permit ?

she is married to a Chinese national not sure what visa he is on but he runs a business, they live in a house which they paid for but on paper is owned by a Thai friend. She has to take in pics of her and this kid she is meant to be looking after. Going with her on Mon so it should be interesting.  Not former Thai.

I the child her own and attending school. In that case she could be getting as their parent but that requires 500k baht in the bank for 90 days if it is not the first extension which is only 30 days.

If her husband is legally working and has an extension of stay for that she could get an extension based upon that.
