I'm not sure what you mean my friend, I was referring to first the demonstrations will die down and then the military stays in power

You don't get it. The Thais do not care about the junta.

What on earth would they be rallying against? The freedom to trash the government on Facebook lol

Thailand has just won a prestigious award out of the USA as the best place to invest in Asia under the current government

Nobody gives a hoot about the junta except the usual suspects on TV. you can scream as much as you want but you won't be heard in cyber space. I suggest keyboard warriors to protest on Facebook.. Any takers emoji3.png

Apologies

I bow to your superior knowledge of the views of the Thai people

A trusted person from a decent  party is not welcome by the army and the elite, see all the military takeovers. The PM wants only power and money, he is an anti-democrat. "Happiness for HIS people".

Inside information   ??   you have no idea  --I wouldn't even hazard a guess.    This is your agenda is it. ??

And so it Begins the unrest then

Give the guy and his followers a break please .... they are doing something that should have been done a long time ago ..... "Democracy" !

Domocracy can't be achieved until the country is free from All forms of Elite people are gone.

I thought there were going to be changes once respectful was shown

I just discussed the junta's many election delays to date with a very good friend, a Thai who is a recently retired upper-level university professor here.  In fact, I bet him that, based on the current junta's history, elections not only wouldn't be allowed this year, but wouldn't be allowed next year as well.  He was emphatic that the Thai people won't allow Little P to postpone elections beyond early 2019 as the junta's time is running out.

My take is that many of the Thais despise Little P and his junta but simply aren't allowed to express their true feelings publicly or they will pay the price, since it's verboten to speak against Little P or his plastic military generals.  The reason for the Thais continued (public) silence should be obvious by now.

With the recent activist activity it does appear that "it has started", as other TV members have pointed out.  The bottom line is I do hope the locals are finally waking up to this cancer and that we'll soon see more from them shortly.  Gotta admit it definitely seems like the natives are finally beginning to get restless and that soon it will be 'game on'.  I personally look forward to Thailand returning to being known as the Land of Smiles.  Time will tell.

Not buying it. You can't be serious that a "professer" represents 60 million thais.

The Thais are not cowards. They would have already marched in the millions. So far we have a grand total of 200.. Fools that have embarrassed themselves.
TV posters still don't get it. There is nothing to rally against lol. The regime is not brutal, there are no thais being dragged into the woods. Freedom of speech? Well you just trashed the regime on the nation's newspaper owned forum!

I seriously doubt you live here not to know that but hey that's the beauty of anonymous forums

Try another record - the "I don't think you live her" one is becoming a bit boring.

You have accused several people of that - all long-term posters who very obviously live here.

In fact, if you don't mind me saying so, the alacrity and enthusiasm with which you deploy that particular line does rather lead one to wonder: do you live here?

you can scream, jump or demonstrate or whatever you like.......the General will tell you when and whom you have to elect.

So you criticize me of being boring and then accuse me of exactly the same thing. Comedy gold [emoji3]

I think it's pretty obvious that he doesn't.

This is what article 44 is in place for.

I never said the professor actually "represented 60 million thais".  I think you need to bone up a little on your reading comprehension, as well as spelling, skills.

Sad that you obviously can't see the forest for the trees.  Nothing to rally against?  What a joke.  Just wait and see pal.  After living through 2 military juntas to date, and being stationed here during the Vietnam War I will agree with you that the Thais are not cowards.  That said, under the 'leadership' of Little P and his cronies, the Thais clearly are forced by current laws into public silence.  Like others who have lived here as long as I have I do believe that silence is coming to an end though.

And, yes, I guess I did "trash" the boys in charge who illegally overthrew Thailand's democratically elected government, dissolved the parliament, burned the constitution, and who continue to rule Thailand like it's a dictatorship.  If you can't admit to that reality, you really are fooling yourself.

LOL, I guess you and Steven100 must be cuddly buddies.  Have a nice day. [emoji2]

"guess you and Steven100 must be cuddly buddies"

Now now a man of your caliber who hangs with professors should know better than to make cheap shots.

The junta is on borrowed time, (they are just too dumb to see what's brewing now) and they will probably start to arrest the demonstrators, this will just lead to more protests and hatred against them and maybe to a 1992 style grand finale.

Headline should also say....and free dental healthcare !

I think it's pretty obvious that he doesn't.

Live here or understand irony? Or both? [emoji1]

No Army and No Junta can or will stop 100,000 + determined people. Thailand needs and must have a fair democratic election. Seems the junta is enjoying the ride and doesn't want it to end. If Prawit loves and cares about the Thai citizens as much as he is always talking about he will give then an opportunity to elect the people they choose and not the people who are shoved down theirs throats. A lot of credit to these folks who are out there fighting for the country's democratic survival.

I wish them all the luck they need and success in striving for their goal.

You think a general is not aware of his surroundings? Have you lost your mind?
He already has the pathetic uprising in check mate.

So many farang ignoring the facts and have resorted to nightly prayers singing kumbaya (come by here) but sadly in the morning the Thais did not come [emoji25]

After 19 successful coups, and another 10 or so failed ones, nobody needs inside information to know what the army wants.

Indeed this is a pathetic uprising, the second one in a week, which makes it obvious that something is stirring among the Thai population.

The third pathetic uprising might be a bit larger, and the fourth one may be even be so significant that the army feels the need to step in.

That's when the :hit-the-fan:
