laislica
My Thai wife has rellies who live in Europe full time and are renting for a month in Patts and we are planning to meet up with them soon and stay a few days. I've never been there before so.... Where to avoid and what are the "Must See Places". My wife likes temples, me - not so much but I do go especially to temples I've not seen before. champers
Pretty much top of most tourists "must see" list is Walking Street. I would also reccommend a trip to the Big Bhudda and the temple to the navy admiral that both overlook Pattaya and Jomtien. Some great views are to be had. Go on a clear day. I would also advise a visit to the One Million Years Stone Park cum crocodile farm. Nong Nooch has gone down the nick in my view; too many concrete animals and not enough real ones. The gardens aren't as plentiful as 10 years ago. Underwater World aquarium is a good way to pass an hour or so. Try to be there for feeding time at 11. Enjoy your stay. chickenslegs
Viharn Sien Chinese museum of art is well worth a visit. They even have some of the Qin Shi Huang terracotta soldiers there. https://www.renown-travel.com/temples/viharn-sien.html Nearby, in one direction is the Buddha mountain (Khao Chee Chan) and Silverlake vinyard, and in the other is the complex of temples at Wat Yanasangvararam. http://watyanasangvararam.com/?lang=en

We have visited monkeys, elephants, snakes etc in various other parts of Thailand and I'm afraid that the conditions for the animals were not good so I'd rather not support them with a visit.. I was/am using Google, but it's good to ask for a spot of "insider" knowledge.

JSixpack
JSixpack said on August 19, 2016: Quote Stay in central Pattaya, park the car right away & take baht buses & motorbike taxis. Burn the inside of your leg on a motorbike exhaust pipe. Later this will be a good spot for a Pattaya Forever tattoo. Have lunch at Hippo in the mall or at the Hilton buffet. Hit the classics. TQ, oldest go-go bar in Pattaya, for "daytime is playtime." Feelin' good, head down to Hops for a bite & some of their fine wheat beer. Next block, walk down Soi Post Office, been there forever and about the same as its always been. Oh--get sleazy at the Nevada Go-Go near the Beach Rd. corner. Then make THE classic walk down Beach Rd to Walking Street for an evening of whatever. Next day, explore the Soi Buakhao area; lots of restos and Pattaya craziness; after 6, hit the go-gos on LK Metro. Hit Soi 6 at some point; watch your wallet among the katoeys halfway down the soi. Have a bite at the Queen Vic and a Guinness. As for Jomtien, mmmm, not a must-see but the view from the Pattaya Park tower is worth seeing. Finally you'll need to get yourself an I Love Pattaya T-shirt from a street vendor and wear it to the Big C shopping mall on Pattaya Klang and to Foodland further up the same street. Your purpose? To check the bulletin boards for a rental apartment to move here permanently! :)
