I'm travelling to Chiang Mai from the UK with a 1.5 hour layover in Bangkok. Will I have to use my single entry when I arrive in Bangkok or can it be used in Chiang Mai?

That depends upon the airline or airlines you are flying on. Some flights are set up so you only transit through Bangkok without clearing immigration there and then do it in Chiang Mai.

Thanks for the help, is there a way I can find out if I'll need to pass through immigration in Bangkok? Here's a pic of the flight detailsIMG_0724.PNG.1406370be76a379ccaed27ec377b816b.PNG

I don't think it matters which place you clear immigration as long as both flights arrive the same day.

Either place will give you the same 'permission to stay' date.

The Bangkok Airways flight (with Etihad code share) from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is strictly a domestic flight. I think it highly likely that you must clear immigration in Bangkok which makes it a pretty tight connection. Since your flight arrives in Chiang Mai at domestic arrivals, where no passport checks automatically occur, it would be easy for someone who was not already stamped into the country to dodge immigration controls.
