Thaksin and Yingluck now in Japan, says Prawit

Deputy PM and Defence Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan

Deputy PM and Defence Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan said on Monday said that former prime ministers Thaksin and Yingluck Shinawatra are currently in Japan.

Without further elaboration, Prawit added that he has ordered responsible agencies to look into the matter.

Photos of Thaksin and Yingluck shopping in Beijing emerged publicly about a month after Yingluck was spotted in London, where Thaksin runs businesses and owns residences.

Yingluck fled from Thailand shortly before a verdict was issued in the case related to her government’s rice-pledging scheme.

The verdict, which had been delayed for a month, sentenced her to five-years imprisonment without suspension.

I have waved my chubby little hand, made heavy with an expensive watch, and asked responsible agencies to do whatever they do to do something about the Shinawatras without elaborating.  Wonder what those who work for these buffoons really think of them.

If China will not give them up, Japan certainly won't.

Is it any wonder why we shake our heads and laugh out loud everyime a story about the two ex P.M.'s surfaces in the Thai news?.  This morbid obession with them is at the point of being a worldwide joke.  Oh look, here they are shopping, oh look, here they are eating food and smiling.  Thaksin and Yingluck are having the time of their lives, they have the world to explore, they have the resources and you know they just love sticking it to these morons here in Thailand who continue to claim they will be brought back to face justice.  Thailand, wake up, you are a joke on the world stage.

Sooner or later they are going to holiday in North Korea. That's when the buddy system will be activated to get them back.

Yes, shopping, eating and smiling.  Do you remember when Thaksin pleaded with his supporters not to let him die out in the desert?

Surely you meant to say  ...  the watch is ticking ?:whistling:

The truth is that neither are wanted, or expected, to return and the government will pretend to chase them, but as slowly as possible, and purely for domestic consumption.

No problem, they're free to follow their wealthy lifestyle wherever they want, so long as they don't show signs of wanting to return to fleece the country again.

Maybe the responsible agencies need to get a wriggle on with Prwaits own little indiscretions.

So the two of them are on a world tour now -- Dubai, China, London, Japan, etc???

Fleeing prosecution from Thailand is a bi**h, isn't it??? Is the Red Bull kid traveling with them, by any chance?

A Thai version of "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego"

When do we get to see the photos of them shopping in Japan?

Just demonstrating, by the multiplicity of non-extraditions taking place, the impotence of the junta and (despite the diplomatic visits each way) the low regard in which it is held by the world at large.

Well, I think your explanation doesn't tell the whole story...

If it was you or me or any other everyday schlub, we'd probably be in a Thai jail pretty darn quick.

But when it's someone rich and well-connected, etc., then it becomes an entirely different matter. I think rich and well-connected has as much to do with the non-outcome as does the standing of the current govt.

I'm waiting for the pictures from Olympic Village. Can't believe they're not taking in a few Olympic games. Is there a Thai badminton team on the schedule this year?

Well they can do it because Interpol doesn't care for the Thai orders....now wait what the reply of the general is, it will come soon i guess.

And here I thought that Prawit, was in Japan borrowing another expensive watch, and just happened to see the two Shins himself. My mistake!
