Hi!

I have a multiple non-immigrant O visa for 1 year. My 90 days are about to expire and i would like to know what are the options that i have? At the moment I dont have a work permit.

Do i have to do a visarun outside Thailand, or is it possible to get the stamp at the immigration office?

I guess that the question has already been covered here somewhere, but i couldn't find it

You will have to exit Thailand and re enter to activate your next 90 days. So a border run it is.

Are you married to a Thai or over age 50 and retired? Both of those can be extended if you meet qualifying conditions, on a yearly basis. Otherwise you must exit Thailand, enter another country before you are allowed to enter Thailand and obtain another 90 day stay. It can be done on same day or a mini travel/vacation.

Just do a border run. Cross the boder, stamp in and out of any other country then return and get your next 90 days stamp. If this is your first time, you might want to use a visa run service, about 1800-2000 from bangkok, and they will look after you.

Remember to do another border run the day before you visa expires to get another 90 day stamp, so your visa is really good for 15 months if you use it correctly.

You must go the day before it say "visa expires"

So if the visa expires on July 10, you need to go on July9.

Its better to go one or two days earlier anyway, just in case your plans change or you encounter some problems.

Last year when I got this extra 90 days stamp on my last Non O, I went with a friend and I still has about 6 days left before my visa expired, but it was the last day to go for my friends non O. The van broke down in the afternnon and we never made it to the border on that day. The following day he came with me again, I told him it was to late, his visa had expired, he said he will just tell the story of what happened yesterday..................to sum it all up, I got my next 90 day stamp and he got a laugh in the face and a free 30 day visa exempt stamp.

So, you CAN'T get a 30-day extension at the end of the 90 days on the multiple-entry Non-Imm O? For some reason, I thought you could like on the Tourist Visa...

You need to be married and show proof of 40k per month income to extend the Non o visa.

I am married to a Thai; have proof of 40k per month -- I have a muliple-entry non-Imm O valid until 30 Oct 2007. The first 90-day stamp expires 30 Jan.

I formerly had a multiple-entry Tourist Visa where, at the end of each 60-day stamp I could go to local Immigration Office and receive a 30-day extension and then take my visa run at the end of that.

I was under the assumption that I could do the same with the Non-Imm O -- get 30-day extension at the end of each 90-day stamp and then do visa run. I know the proof of income is for the 1-year extension (I don't want to get this until my current Non-Imm O is within 30-21 days of expiring in October).

So, I just want clarification that I'll be needing to go on a visa run this coming Monday rather than going to Patong Immigration and relying on a 30-day extension that I can't get.... (Too many rules to remember have me somewhat confused...)

You need to make an exit of Thailand and return. You absolutely will not obtain a 30 day extension of a non immigrant visa unless you apply for a one year extension of stay on basis of family (which for some reason you don't want to do now).
