Lomprayah needs some competition. they are borderline abusive to thier captive audience.

February 28, 20188 yr Author cornishhas been blocked. what i do know is that Lomprayah needs competition on the chumporn to ko tao route. i wonder if they pay the govt to not have this competition. Lomprayah must make money hand over fist
February 28, 20188 yr Entertaining thread. Probably don't have a service for the same reason I can't find tinned spaghetti in Thailand- TiT.
February 28, 20188 yr Seatran used to have a service, but they lost their berthing space in Chumphon Paknam. At a similar time that Seatran were going down in their service Lomprayah bought a large piece of land and built their own facility, which was outside of Paknam entrance which used to mean the boats to go at low speed for an extra 20 minutes before they were out of the port area. I expect that Seatran just cannot compete with Lomprayah on that route anymore. I believe Seatran is actually a large listed company and the passenger operations were rather forgotten about. When they first came in, in about 2003 they were better than the other main service providers in Songserm and Lomprayah. Lomprayah upped their game, and Songserm did to some extent as well. Well they still have one boat a day and are the cheaper option.

I haven't used them since. I prefer the big car ferries as I like being able to move around, sit up on deck etc.
