Sorry, couldnt resist. I think if you look suitably humble when you pay your fine, you will be O.K, but I would not make a habit of overstaying, not these days. Good luck.

One other issue to consider on overstays. I believe that Thai immigration law used to require detention if the overstay fine was above a certain amount (say, 10,000 baht). But that was years ago. What is the fine threshold now that would put an overstayer in the slammer?
