Thai social media was wowed by a monkey food seller in Nakhon Sawan who cut open a dead monkey to save the life of an unborn baby.

Pictures appeared on the Facebook page of Padtama Kedkuerviriyanon, 36, who sells monkey slacks in Banphotphisai district.

The mother had been killed by a dog bite and Padtama swung into action with a sharp knife saving the little baby.

"I have a new daughter to take care of", she proclaimed proudly.

Manager reported that this was not the first time that Padtama had come to the rescue. She also cut open another pregnant monkey a while back that had been hit by a vehicle.

"Bunrort" was also saved and is now scampering around happily.
