Photo: The Phuket News PHUKET: Phuket Vice Governor Thawornwat Kongkaew yesterday agreed to send a letter to Airports of Thailand (AoT) representatives who operate Phuket International Airport to ask them to resolve the issue of aircraft noise disturbing local residents. Vice Governor Thawornwat announced news of the impending formal request at meeting at Provincial Hall yesterday (Mar 6) which was actually attended by AoT representatives from Phuket International Airport. The meeting was called to resolve the issue after complaints from local residents, who were also at the meeting, accompanied by local community leaders. ozfarang Posted March 8, 2018 Share Posted March 8, 2018 The only way to give noise respite to nearby residents is a curfew and as tourism in Thailand is a huge money earner the chance of a curfew for HKT airport is nil. All the other international gateway airports to Thailand don't have curfews as far as I know so for the nearby residents its move or put up with the noise.
