Limit On Tourist Visas From Uk?

Featured Replies

Seen a few threads where consulates are refusing tourist visa applications if more than twice in one year. is this likely to apply in one's own country too? (i am UK passport holder age 35, i've had about 3 tourist visas in a row from the London consulate in the past year, is there a chance of being refused another?)

Also, i will soon utilise the second entry on my current double entry visa. if i am out of the country in the interim for a month, would that effectively give me 7 months from the date of arriving on a double entry visa? (ie 60 days+ 30 day extension; overseas 30 days, second 60 days + 30 day extension?)

Finally, while in the UK, is it possible to apply by post without having to make the journey to the consulate in Hull (for tourist visa and non imm.b also?)

Many thanks.

1. Consulates are free to set there specific criteria but have not seen any indications that there is a two visa limit per year in general.

2. A two entry tourist visa will normally be valid for six months - so if you enter day 1 you can stay up to day 90 (using 30 day extension of stay) exit to another country and return for the same 60+30 as long as visa is valid on day of return. So it could cover the 7 months as you outlined or up to almost 9 months if your time in other country is extended.

3. Mail applications are accepted by most Consulates (outside of London) I believe. I know they are from Hull.

Just to confirm point 1. I received a 4 visit tourist visa valid for six months from Hull last November.
