A 36-year-old Singaporean man was killed on Sunday in a traffic accident in Cambodia's Kandal province, which is next to the capital Phnom Penh.

Mr Sam Chan Kwong Kit had been involved in a collision while riding a scooter in Ponhea Lueu district, according to the Cambodian police. Mr Chan, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, died on the way to hospital.

Mr Tim Vutha, chief of the traffic office at the Police Inspectorate of Ponhea Lueu district, told The Straits Times yesterday that the police are trying to identify the driver of the other vehicle who fled after the accident.
