Trump, deemed not 'above the law,' must face defamation lawsuit

And the equally bad or worse part of all this is, a lot of these allegations has surfaced in various forms PRIOR to the election (for anyone who was paying attention to the news) and enough (stupid) Americans still voted to elect this guy president.

Yet despite my country's electoral stupidity and Trump's current various efforts to dismantle the effective functioning of various federal agencies, it says something about the U.S. system of government that a sitting U.S. president can still be required to defend a personal (non-presidential) defamation lawsuit while in office.

Bravo to the judge!

Many have speculated that Trump may go down because of the Mueller investigation....or the massive corruption that Trump's company is engaged in daily...or his constant lying to the American people....or just his sheer stupidity.  But these sordid sexual allegations may just do it.

[President Donald Trump could soon find his alleged sexual misconduct and sexual misdeeds being laid bare like never before in the coming weeks and months as the result of three ongoing legal cases.]

[The suit being allowed to move forward raises the possibility of many of Trump’s accusers giving depositions to air their accusations. It also creates the prospect of the president being called to testify and answer questions under oath about his past interactions with women.]

What's the chance of Trump lying under oath if forced to testify?  100%

This is the beginning of the end of democracy in the USA.

The precedent is being set. The opposition will drag POTUS through the courts - no matter which side he's on and make a mockery of the presidency.

All this stuff should go on hold till after the presidency. You can bet your bottom dollar the Repubs will do the same to the next democrat president. It'll get worse & worse.

IMHO this is the rebirth of democracy in the USA.

As these alleged offences were committed before he stood for POTUS then he SHOULD be taken to court and tried. He is still a private citizen.

The presidency will still go on because there is a VIP to take over.

I am sure that the Republicans will try to do it to a Democrat President, assuming that the incoming Democrat is as sleazy as the current POTUS. If not there will not be a problem.

Of course if he is found not guilty he can sue them back.  OTOH.....

Also on Tuesday, Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model who said she had an affair with Trump, filed suit in California to release her from a legal agreement requiring her to stay silent.

The ultimate party that got her to sign this agreement was a company called AMI, run by a close friend of Trump, David Pecker.

You literally CANNOT make this stuff up!
