Consular letter confirming pension/income for Retirement Visa in Thailand (Postal application or Email application only)

We are able to issue a standard letter addressed to Thai Immigration confirming your pension/income to support the renewal/extension of your retirement visa. This letter is a Thai requirement and the granting of the visa is at the sole discretion of the Thai Immigration authorities, not the British Embassy Bangkok.

Obtain the service through postal application (PDF, 401KB, 3 pages)

Obtain the service through email application (PDF, 401KB, 3 pages) please send your application form to [email protected]

Letters are normally provided within 10 working days of receipt at the Consular Section. Please ensure you make your application in time for your visa renewal/extension, as the Embassy cannot assist with any overstay issues.

you also have to get it stamped yet again in ministry of foreign affairs in bkk,

and even then its a toss if the immigration officer will extend visa,

so its best to apply as early as possible and have a plan B handy

That a is only needed at a few immigration offices in the central region near Bangkok. Certainly not needed at the majority of immigration offices.

They will accept bank statements showing the income going into an account.

You should be able to get proof of your pension from the provider of it. It does not have to be issued recently.

There is no need (at least in Phuket, and I believe most other Immigration offices) to have the Consulate letter stamped by the MFA.

The UK Embassy will need something in support of your letter, detailing income either through a pension(s) or through interest to meet the 65,000 baht/month or 800,000 baht a year.

Everything can be done on line, filling in their form(s) and scanning the documentary evidence of your income.
