Pattaya: Sex on the beach couple have left Thailand - cops go after video poster instead

The couple who were filmed having sex on Dong Tan beach in broad daylight in Pattaya earlier this month have left Thailand.

Despite the efforts of Pattaya station chief Pol Col Apichai Krobpetch and tourist police it was discovered that the couple - now known to be Russians - have returned home.

They will be blacklisted and prosecuted if they ever return to Thailand.

Sanook said that the resort's image was hurt when someone posted the couple having sex in full view of other tourists on a drainage pipe.

Pattaya has tried to shake its image as a town only for sex and this did not help, said Sanook.

CCTV was studied after the incident on March 11th and the couple were traced to a hotel in Thappraya Soi 12. But they had already checked-out, as it were.

The woman flew out of U-Tapao on the same day at 2pm while the man left from Suvarnabhumi airport two days later at 8.18am.

Chief Apichai said that the poster of the clip was also in the wrong and was known. They have been issued with a summons and if they don't show a warrant will be sought from the Pattaya court and they will be arrested.

He said that if you see such activity in public call the cops - taking videos and posting them will lead to trouble.

Utterly pathetic. If they could show as much determination in preventing road fatalities, Pattaya would be a far safer and friendlier place for tourists and locals alike.

Shoot the messenger.

at least his (publicising) actions 'cleaned the pipes' of the scum that was building up on it

....because they want to see the live show. Which, as we know from such a clean and respectable 'resort', is not available anywhere else.

Well they've got to nab someone, otherwise the silly "loss of face" creeps in, and we can't have farrangs (if it was a farrang) doing that now  can we !

ANYTHING but the truth eh, everyone knows what PATTAYA is about , EVERYONE in the WORLD.

Just as everyone was moving on to the next (or possibly the one or two after that) "bringing the reputation on Pattaya into disrepute" scandal, the police remind us of their inability to do anything about most of these events.

Farang doing one of the most natural things there is to do.

Reminds me of a time in Spain. Met a lovely bit of stuff on the beach.  "Well darling, how do you want it?" She asked. "In the sand 5 Euros, on the broken deck chair 5 Euros, or,,, on the waste water pipe, 50 Euros." Easy decision; not a second thought there.

I blame the people who built the drainage pipe. If they had not built the pipe they could not have had sex there!

I mean that's Thai Logic right there init

I count a minimum of eight cops studying the photos whilst being photographed.  Why don't they just find a porn site on the net?

This is what they do all the time, blame the messenger, they don't realize how stupid they sound, they should confront the problem head on and state what they will do in the future to make sure it will not happen again, like patrol the beaches, they did try that in Pattaya as usual lasted a few weeks like everything else they do,

phone the police :violin: although they might have come for this.

Just rip out the waste pipe!

a complaint should be an improvement opportunity , here it is something to ignore or a reason to take you to court

I just can't fathom it. What kind of mindset ignores the proof of the incident and turns it around on the law-minded citizen who provides the video. Then there's the hilarious grip-and-grin photo op, which must always have a minimum of 8 volunteers, including one holding a radio as if he were in the middle of something important. There you have a near perfect illustration of the cartoon police of Thailand.

The morons in brown dont want anything posted on social media. Posting on social media makes them look bad. Also makes them have to pretend to do there job.

Only after the RTP realize that they cannot catch the Russian couple they decide to go for the person who posted the video like macaques going through the trash

What concerns me is sewerage pipes appear to go into the sea that cannot be good !

Very nice, diligent work. Thai police never give up. Unless it is a red bull case or connected to Koh Tao.... for example

This on top of the reaction to negative Facebook restaurant reviews seems too much.

Social media has proven very useful in making something happen in Thailand... perhaps that is the problem.

They again So fascinated by foreigners. spending all their time and money and some braincells on such minor issue.

Better go try arrest that local rapist.

whoever it was will now never come back to the LOS.they made the news and now it will become part of pattaya  history

So if I record a video of someone getting killed and hand over the evidence to the police I will get arrested ?

"Pattaya has tried to shake its image as a town only for sex and this did not help..."

Upset because it might have been a freebie? And if not, taking job away from willing Thai?

How long until TOT comes up with campaign "Thailand is for lovers"?

Thailand has already a damaged image; road carnage, rubbish, air pollution, criminality, corruption and many other things, this short movie is not very important. Use your power to take down all the other negatives things!
