FOB / key remote repair / locksmith service?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a broken fob/key remote repair and/or replacement / secondary remote as my remote/comfort access suddenly stopped working & the usual battery replacement did not work and the car service place was not able to figure out the problem & asked for the car & key for a 3 day expensive investigation/service to be done!

Service I'm looking for could be similar to this I found in UK but obviously needing in Thailand?

I'm also gonna get a check/quote from the dealer, but fear the answer will be less than desirable...

Any recommendations/experiences folks?

OK, if you want a nice day out, the guy who cuts car keys at a stall inside the west-side entrance to Big C (ring-road @ flyover) in Udon Thani has the gadgetry to either make a new fob match an existing one or reprogram both of them and the widget in the car with new ID's. Loads cheaper and quicker than the same service at a dealership.

You can check out most Big C centers where there will be at least a couple of car key cutting places but not all will have the ability to do as above.

Thanks for the tip so after a stop by the dealership who told me a new key/fob would need to be ordered with delivery time of some 2 weeks & gave the next door lotus a try and indeed a locksmith advertising 'immobilizer' service gave me a quote for 1 new key fob & whilst only the basic lock/unlock service was restored (comfort/convenient access was not) I would say not bad in some 30min 'hacking' so lets see how much the dealership will be able to restore after songkran :)

Cheers ;) P.s. local shop charged 6,500 while dealer wants 14,500 so I'll end up with 1 new original key fo & 1 'new copy' in various working capabilities...
