New York police shoot black man holding pipe after reports he had firearm

But, but it was only 10 shots as that was all he had in his gun. Now isn"t this

just a great excuse, not reason,  for firing 10 shots.  Foolish for the guy to hold a pipe

or rod and do this, guess we won" t know if it was intentional now. RIP fellow.

Geezer

That's right, always the black man's fault, never the good ol' white cop.

Same as the justice system here, policeman will be found not guilty.

So much for LBJ's Civil Rights Act.

Disgraceful.

The only thing disgraceful, is your not so well thought over comment. :cheesy:

Why is colour mentioned? surely it is just a policeman shooting someone he thinks is pointing a gun at him.

because they dont make such "mistakes" with white people holding pipes

They wouldn't get enough cops. I'm assuming that they would be charged with manslaughter under your rules if they engaged somebody in a dark alley way that was pointing without them being interviewed and assessed up close.

Nobody volunteers to be shot. Your theory is flawed on every level.

Black criminals in America are so vicious and violent they should be shot on sight. I'm sure that day will eventually come

They would get plenty of cops, just as they get plenty of people to join the military, and they often have stricter rules of engagement.  Your assumption about manslaughter charges is nutty and makes no sense.  So you are generalizing about Black criminals.  Racist.

And the Police should always go around in twos, so when one gets shot dead, the other can then shoot the assailant

You can make silly generalizations and irrational ramblings, but that doesn't mean it has any basis.  The cops should err on the side of innocence.

When police give a command , you don't resist.People called 911 to report a man with a gun.He wasn't told to stop smoking,swearing,causing a disturbance.They gave a command that was  not obeyed .

Disobeying a command is not and should not be a death sentence. Stop being such a generalist.  And just because idiot people say something, hardly means it to be true.  The average person is an idiot and rarely has any idea of what they actually saw or what actually happened.  In this case there was not gun.

And if they wait for the first shot ... and that shot kills one of them?

It certainly is possible.  That's the nature of the job.  Tough job, for sure.  But they signed up for it and it is voluntary.  One is innocent until proven guilty.  Summary execution on the streets is not justified. As opposed to several of the un-armed people that they have killed.

American police are totally out of control. Much like the pack of sociopaths in the White House. Killing black people has become the main enterprise of American "law enforcement". A nascent police state.

And if, as you suggest, they wait for the first shot and it kills an innocent civilian?

If a person has , what you believe to be a gun, in his possession and hes pointing it at someone , if you wait until he shoots that gun, he is quite likely to kill someone and it may well be you .

That isnt "irrational" a "generalisation" or a "rambling"

Not anything gun shaped, no .

If you point something that resembles a gun at people , they are quite likely to shoot you first .

only in an insane society

I have a friend who was threatened by UK police with serious charges for playing around with a plastic toy rifle while travelling in a car. As the toy was about 18" long, he thought they weren't serious. Wrong.

In a country awash with guns and where the largest cause of death of young black males is homocide, mostly by other black males, pointing a gun shaped object at police is a terminally stupid act, even more so if you happen to be black.

Suicide by cop? otherwise why pointing a round long object at a happy

don't shoot black people holding what perceived to be a gun....

Blacks are usually famous for athletics, not intellect

I saw the video. The police officer's reaction was justified. Those protests are hypocritical. And they blame KKK. Serious? With that, this black community proofs only that they learned nothing.
