BANGKOK — Deputy junta chairman Prawit Wongsuwan said Thursday protesters marching to the capital to protest the construction of judges’ residences on a northern mountain should stop.

Prawit said critics of the project, which carved out a forest on Doi Suthep to build homes for court officials, should suspend their march and wait for an army-sponsored negotiation between local authorities and the court, scheduled for Monday.

The fact that Ole Fatty is getting involved, just shows that there is something dodgy about this affair.

Public Urges Prawit To Quit

How this discredited disgrace of a man can even dare to show his face in public, let alone open his mouth and lay down the 'law' to others, is an utter mystery to many of us. But then it isn't really much of a mystery: shamelessness has no shame!

"Judges residences" wow do they all have to live together????

Did the judges and court officials pay for these residential units or were they awarded gratis?

Funny, during the whole watchgate scandal he kept pretty low key. Now he’s declared the investigation over and the NACC have basically admitted to being toothless, he’s back in the spotlight again with zero shame.

Guess during the investigation they worried he’d be asked questions or he’d have another hissy fit.

It's three {3) marchers for crying out loud! An old guy, a middle-aged lady and a young guy:

Go away Prawit.

When you are mafia, its best to control the whole environment for your own security. They be able to defend themselves from any "new kids on the block and will help to hide their I'll gotten gains. I think its normal feudalism psychology isnt it. They'll all have a vested interest to protect each other while being able to inspect each others trough make sure all is divided fairly. Simple

Leave my friends alone you peasants, this will all be sorted out legally, like my watches case.

Didn't you guys know???

Marching in Thailand is strictly forbidden for ordinary folks, and instead, is the sole right of the military.

Only the guys in uniforms get to march in Thailand. That's the law!!!

BTW:

Funny how every time you turn around, the Army here ends up owning things, like mountaintops in Chiang Mai. Obviously for forward observation posts...

We don't have to wait for Monday for the outcome...

The result is already clear.....And the winner is The Elite (again)

Anyway...How can Ole Fatty order 3 persons not to walk to Bangkok?

Seriously this place is getting more scary by the day....

Yes we can laugh at the stupidities....until we realize, that the clowns are actually in power and have arms...

For Prawit to be reported as urging critics of the project to suspend their march and wait for an army-sponsored negotiation between local authorities and the court, raises three loud and clear alarm bells:

  1. Why on earth Prawit was entrusted with the job of asking people to respect normal legal process, when he's now acknowledged by all as the least trustworthy and due process-respecting person on the planet, and
  2. That the housing estate stands on Army land and that Monday's 'negotiation' . . . an unusual term for a meeting concerned with principles, as opposed to cash, will clearly be army style, they having already sanctioned and committed themselves to what, for me, stinks as a fairly unusual building arrangement, can only mean one thing . . . they are hardly likely to back-pedal on such a large and very much publicised involvement.
  3. Could there be money involved, for these high-end judiciary types getting their bums on what appears to be a rather nice building plot? Mmm . . . I wonder.

Porky might well be in, over his head, here . . . watch out for Superman stepping in, next week.

Probably in exchange for a watch, or three.

You be the judge of that.

I guess the character  (architect?) responsible for this blot on the landscape drew the plans up on a bar napkin after 3 double Scotches. Cookie cutter mega cabins selling for millions.

Apparently he needs one of these houses to keep his watch collection in.

Maybe it's part of a larger plan? Put them all together and wait for the burning season?

Where do they live now?  I suspect these may be Holliday Homes

This blatant forest encroachment will screw movement of animal species within a large radius. It will have a catastrophic affect on the forest eco system far beyond anything the black panther man has done. A crime has been committed.

Just look at the arial view and you can see this development is gouged out of the forest . There was no objection when Khun Toon ran the length of the country to make up the shortfall of funds provided to local hospitals . The marchers should have public support to prevent this hi so development  for the sole use of lawmakers

This close relationship between the military and the courts is indicative of one example why Thai judges from the lower courts to the supreme courts have never resigned en masse to protest when a junta overthrows an elected government and abolishes the constitution - they await their just rewards for loyalty.

The only animal species left in the forest are squirrels and they'll fit in nicely... kinda like a rat and weasel.    The forest eco system is long gone.

That one man has to run in this country to help hospitals is just sad.  The money that exists in the (blank) and in the (blank) is obscene.  Enough to build the best university and hospital in each province with barely a tick out of it.

Time for the people to do something if they want to have anything left, especially the young adults.
Hopelessness is closing in.

Probably in exchange for a watch, or three.

I guess it is payment in kind for “services rendered”. Without an independent judiciary where will society turn for justice?

If this is actual encroachment and not just “near” the National Park perhaps the land office has something to answer to?

I think it is becoming more obvious by the day that Prawit is No.1.

Prayut is No. 2 and simply the PR man who doles out Thai Niyom money and goes around singing songs while glad handing and backslapping the country folk. Plus a bit of frog kissing and poetry reciting. Bashing and threatening media journalists is his forte.

But when push comes to shove you can bet Prawit is the real boss. Prayut is simply his puppet and follows instructions.

If it all goes horribly wrong for the country there will be no shortage of reasons that can be pointed to.  How high does something have to stink before people come out and refuse to go along with it?

Not long now till Prem comes out with his yearly call to people to end corruption - where are the people like him (I know he is not untainted) who can shout out loud with little fear of reprisal.
