BANGKOK, 6th April 2018 (NNT) – The Deputy Commander of the Royal Thai Police is to hold discussions with the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor Region 7 on its decision to file only six of eleven charges lodged against Italian Thai Development Co Ltd CEO Premchai Karnasutra concerning his alleged illegal hunting in Tungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary.

Deputy Commander of the Royal Thai Police, Pol Gen Sriwara Rangsipramnakul has indicated he will meet with the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor Region 7 next week to discuss public disquiet, after it decided to proceed with only six of eleven charges investigaters made against Premchai.

The CEO is currently being charged with violations including unauthorized transportation of firearms into a wildlife sanctuary and attempted hunting of protected animals.

Pol Gen Sriwara announced that police will be pressing prosecutors to reconsider the remaining five charges as they believe adequate evidence was collected. Meanwhile, he expressed confidence that other charges stemming from Premchai’s ownership of illegal elephant ivory and attempted bribery of state agents will not similarly be cast aside by prosecutors.

The watch story is almost dead and everyone's busy watching that time travel drama in fancy dress.

Songkran is also round the corner.

There's no need to flog this dead horse again, at least not yet.

Whilst not directly linked to the topic, interesting background regarding the general Thai attitude to animal welfare.

I read only one sentence, typical western reporting..

An elephant sits on a cold, stone floor as it tosses a hoop into the air with its trunk

Yes, Thailand has such cold stone floors  :whistling::post-4641-1156694572:

The police are a problem that has destroyed Thai peoples belief in recieving fair justice.

To top it off law reforms never happened under Prayut. In fact nothing happened but him gaining breath taking wealth with the police of course. A partnership lol..Need a new PM.to assure sweeping law reforms heavy jail times period.

The lottery tickets have a fixed price now...

And the new buses are in BKK....standing unused on a field but that doesn't matter...at least we have them.

I can imagine the police saying, "We want you to proceed with all 11 charges!!" and then winking at Premchai.

Nah, Premchai may be willing to ask what happened to all of the bribe money if he were prosecuted for all charges (including bribery) and found guilty. The police have to tell him he's getting something for all the money that is now causing those unsightly bulges in their pockets.
