Mukdahan area asphalt driveway pavers

Featured Replies

Hello, we live near Khamcha-i, we have a drive way that is 71 meters long and 3 to 4 meters wide, we had concrete priced and it is very expensive right now, has anyone heard of a company doing asphalt driveways in the Mukdahan area, just curious how the costs compare.

Suggest visiting your local city government road maintenance office, or the highway department, and getting tel #s for their asphalt contractors.

Mac

That's a pretty wide driveway.

Have you considered laterite?

Much depends upon your setting but if, like us you have an "informal" garden (jungle) it can blend in well, grass up the middle and all.

Easy to lay. Yes maintenance is needed, just top up the low bits after the wet season.

Thank you for the suggestions, the biggest issue we have is large amounts of water running down the driveway when it rains, so I don't believe anything other than concrete or asphalt will hold up.

I have brought in dirt and spent over 12,000 baht on crushed stone and still it gets very soft and washes away.

We will try to contact the road maintenance office and see what we can find.

Thanks again for all the comments.

Maybe a better solution is to divert the water flow. Possibly a stone filled catch basin & concrete culvert to divert the flow under the driveway.

Unfortunately for us it is up hill both ways from the drive, already put culverts and trenches down both sides, but need a strong driveway to drive in and out, so it must be concrete or asphalt with stone filled trenches down the sides and cement culverts to go under at the curve to send the water out to the rice fields
