Headless corpse found floating in the sea off Pattaya

Rescue services were alerted by a fishing boat that they had found a headless corpse floating in the sea between Koh Larn and Koh Khrok yesterday.

 

The corpse was wearing jeans and the only identifying mark was a dragon tattoo on the torso.

 

The body was sent for autopsy at the police hospital, reported 77Jowo.

 

Police suggested that the victim was probably a Burmese or Cambodian worker who had fallen in the sea. The head was probably eaten off by sea creatures, they said.

Seems many lose their head when coming to Pattaya, but this is a bit extreme.

well I suppose the head eaten by sea creatures is more plausable then suicide !

Maybe ISIS Are in Pattaya for Songkran ???

If sea creatures tore off this man's head, perhaps everyone needs to keep out of the sea. The film Jaws springs to my mind.

RIP to the definately non-Thai Cambodian or Burmese man.

Certainly sounds like suicide to me.....

What they'll do to corrupt road fatality statistics in Pattaya..

Bad enough being slave labour on those fishing boats but when they want to reduce the head count... Ouchhh

Sounds feasible. Feeling depressed. Lost his head. Jumped in sea to drown himself.

Haha...is that the best they could come up with ad hoc style off the cuff? Give me a break. More likely to have been beheaded by some criminal Thai fishing boat captain for non compliance on something.

 A case of saving face goes horribly wrong

Why would the sea creatures munch on his hard skull and eat it first instead of the hands, legs & torso ?

They're Thai sea creatures. Like Thai girlfriends and spouses, they're different.

to risk being politically incorrect, no mention if the corpse was male or female or ethnicity although cambodian or myanmar infers asian.

 

extreme caution advised at the pump station bar as a non sea creature could bite your head off

I agree. The head only detaches during an advanced state of decomposition. We would have seen the loss of limbs and large chunks of flesh, first. I have a hunch  the deceased was decapitated as a result of the incident and perhaps to delay identification.

What sea critters do we have swimming around in this area that can bite heads off?

obviously case of suicide....and shrimps, prawns, and squids (these are sea creatures) ate the head !!!

Probably a fight broke out on the boat ,his throat violently hacked with a machete or gutting tool and was thrown over board. It happens on fishing trawlers all over the world. Guys who dont get along with other crew on Australian prawn boats  sometimes  'fall' overboard during rough seas.  No police stations  or patrol cars 100 miles out to sea.!!!!!
