April 16, 20188 yr First of all I would like to direct this at Sheryl, but obviously any one can chip in My son has food poisoning (mild ) I don't think it will be anything from last night as he would of been sick in the morning So it must of been from the morning in which he ate Beef & French fries from the previous night, as he became ill around 3pm I've researched on Google & believe there is not much you can do but let it ride out, hes' been sick about 5 times now but looking ok given the situation Any thoughts ? Now for me I have a big Boil on my neck which has a hole in it. Naturally have tried squeezing wit no result. It's doesn't hurt but it's hard I am thinking of taking Cephalexin Any thoughts ? Thanks all in advance
April 16, 20188 yr 1. Keep the child hydrated using re-hydration salts obtained from any pharmacy If the vomiting persists beyond 24/36 hours or the child becomes drowsy/difficult to wake seek medical advice. 2 Seek medical advice about the boil - self-medicating with antibiotics is a bad idea. Thanks Agree with No 1 & he's looking ok able to watch cartoons / play the phone & is eating lightly (rice soup ) - Will just have to wait & see what his stomach says As for No 2 - They say Boils will gradually clear themselves up, but this Antibiotic is good for skin infections
April 16, 20188 yr I agree with Swimman, and this may not even be a boil. Your description (no pain, and hard) doesn't really sound like it. Re your child, if he has no fever (or just very mild fever), is active/alert and can keep down fluids you can wait it out. Besides rehydration sachets, activated charcoal helps and like the rehydration salts can be gotten at any 7-11. The duration between food ingestion and illness varies greatly depending on type of organism so you cannot assume it is from breakfast. Also, it is possible it is not food poisoning at all but rather an intestinal virus.
