So...you mean, all the "vowing" and "putting measures in place" and all the forbidding fun...all that did not help, without a) real education and b ) enforcement of the laws?

Or will we get fed some BS in a few days, about how the rate of deadly accidents decreased by 0,7 %?

I know accidents and deaths during Songkran increased this year, but are there any statistics on the number of tourists coming to Thailand this year compared to last year? Also, how many more motor vehicles are there on the road in 2018 compared to 2017? Certainly, these factors must play in any kind of analyses on safety.

That and expats coming to Thailand because it is different to their places of birth and then complaining because it is different.

How is the statistic logged if they were speeding and drunk. :whistling: Bl??dy ignorant, irresponsible muppets, when will they learn, and to think Thais get upset when they are called a 3rd world country...

Horrific number of lives lost this year, despite all the dog an pony shows by the government on all the preventative measures they had in place. The lucky amulets must be on the blink, and the chicken essence obviously isn't doing the trick either.

It is 418 deaths today and 7% more than last year BUT the PM is satisfy with all the agencies involved. So let's expect a record breaking next Songkran that will please him enormously.

Until Thais learn respect for the law then it is like pissing in the wind trying to control road deaths. But in some way i cant blame the thais drivers when you have a useless police force trying to control the situation who are more interested in looking good in their uniforms and posing for pics.
