A better headline might have been: '419 grieving families dissatisfied with Police Commander Chakthip's ability to manage his massive workforce to the point that they show the first signs of meaning business in enforcing the road laws that have been 'in force' since year-dot. Drunk-driving's illegal, speeding's illegal and so is biking, baat (*) helmet, but, if the Police don't appear the slightest bit interested, why should the public?

You can't focus on traffic safety just once a year and expect a positive outcome--you need to be working on it year-round, guy.

And do we have the right to be dissatisfied with the commander ?

 

Bright managers usually blame themselves when staff fails !

 

But this is Thailand where everybody is happy to know nothing and never improve !

 

You don't have the correct type of footwear. No doubt the ones you have on a all bright and shiny black shoes, instead of heavy brown tipped boots.

There will soon be more cops in the Thai Police "inactive desk posts", then on the field where they would be much more useful to harvest "tea money" !!

He doesn't seem to understand that when one reaches the position of 'Police Commander' one is not expecting to do any actual work.  We have one lives not far from us and he hardly ever goes to his 'Police ' work because he is too busy running his own business on the side.   He uses a Police unmarked Pick Up which is parked outside his house virtually permanently but it never gets used for any 'Police' work, just to go shopping with and carry personal items for 'The Family'.  This goes on all over the country not just with Police but with thousands of 'Senior' Civil Servants of all kinds.

 

As my Mrs always says...''This is Thailand, so don't expect anything to change for the better in your lifetime''.    She is absolutely right of course !

I wouldn’t be dissatisfied I’d be disgusted - and what will happen <deleted> - few moved to offices  - inactive post - then 7 days later after BIB in inactive post pay money to higher up BIB  - yeah no worries carry on as normal

Agree. In other words their performance is the result of poor leadership, maybe they should all be rounded up for a haircut, that'll teach them to toe the line ...
