Just sharing my experience with buying a 3D printer kit from China. I started with Lazada as I have purchased many small items with great success. Found a nice kit from a seller in China and placed the order on Nov. 4 hoping to receive by my son's birthday on the 23, got a confirmation call from Lazada because item was 9000 baht, on Nov. 20 called Lazada to check on delivery and I was told item never left China and I should reorder, placed order again and next day was notified that item was shipped, great maybe a Christmas present. Called Lazada on December 10 to check on progress and was told that there was a problem with shipping and I should order from a different seller. I found a nicer kit that cost more (14,000) and placed the order. Jan 2. I called Lazada to check , sorry problem with logistics, may never arrive, if item is eventually delivered I can refuse. So totally disgusted with Lazada I decided to try Ali Express, found a nice kit and placed order $260 US and better than the ones I previously ordered, next day email that item is shipped via TNT , downloaded their app to track, 3 days later it shows item arrived in Thailand, great,  3 days later still in Bangkok, tried to contact TNT got a number in America, called that night and it was Fed ex, the lady explained that Fed ex had acquired TNT and got me the number for TNT Thailand. Called to inquire about the package and was told that they tried to call me but had the wrong number, gave email address for them to send documents that had to be filled out. About 10 minutes later email arrived with documents and instructions, all documents were in Thai and had to be filled out in Thai, and provide copies of passport pages and I must send them my original passport, I had my wife explain what the documents were and they listed a lot of extra charges not even including customs charges, next day I was informed that since it was a 3D printer kit, I had to get an import license from the government. At this point I had had enough with this and I contacted the seller and informed them that I was going to refuse the shipment and would be willing to pay for return shipping up to 50 US. Seller said they would contact TNT for more info. Next day I received a message from the seller saying that the cost was over 500 US to return, could I work with TNT to clear package, I decided to try again, emailed TNT and asked for a detailed list of charges up to this point, 500 baht for delivery, storage charges of 62.50 baht per kilogram per day (package was 10 kilos). Another 500 baht customs charge and whatever import tax was charged, and I had to get the import license myself. At this point the charges were already more than the printer, so I told them to return it. I was just informed that they could not return the package and it had to be destroyed, I said ok go ahead. That's my nightmare. I hope someone gets something out of this.
