I need a Non-resident letter from immigration

Featured Replies

In brief, I had a work visa 2014-2015, then an education visa until 2nov16 I came back in June of 2017 to study again and left Thailand since September 2017.... I need to prove I was only a tourist (US visa exempt) and not a resident of Thailand from 3nov16 to 30apr2017. I was working in USA and Korea most of that time but vacationed in Thailand in between work orders.

I know the law says I'm not a resident... But I'm struggling to get a signed letter from I'm migration officers through contacts in Thailand explaining the law and that I wasn't a resident....

Edited for typo

You are not considered a resident here for tax purpose unless you stay a total of 180 days or more in a calendar year.

Not sure that immigration could be of any help proving you were not a resident here.

Unfortunately it is not for tax purposes... That's not an issue... It is a organizational pay/fraud issue... I gave up residency here when my visa ended and I went back to usa. I need a letter stating tourists coming on a visa exempt entry are not residents of Thailand (should be common sense...but)

Should be really obvious when the airline won't even let me board the aircraft without a follow on flight... Ugh

I doubt you will be able to obtain such a letter.

A consular officer may be able to notarize an afadavit to that effect.

Perhaps you can ring them up?
